Installation Guide:
Do this at home or at the airport while you still have a stable Wi-Fi connection.
- The Golden Rule: Your phone must be connected to the internet (Wi-Fi) to install an eSIM.
- Have your QR code ready: It is best to open it on a second screen (like a laptop or tablet) or print it out so you can easily scan it with your phone’s camera.
- Crucial Warning: Once you install the eSIM, never delete it from your phone! A QR code can only be scanned once.
iPhone / iOS Guide:
- Go to Settings on your phone.
- Tap on Cellular (or Mobile Data).
- Tap Add eSIM (or Add Data Plan).
- Select Use QR Code and scan the code you received with your camera.
- Follow the on-screen prompts. When asked to label the new line, name it “RoamyJet” or “Travel” so you can easily recognize it.
- Line settings: Keep your original (primary) number as the default for Calls and SMS. For Cellular Data, keep your primary number selected for now (we will switch this when you land).
Android / Samsung Guide:
- Go to Settings on your phone.
- Tap on Connections and select SIM Manager.
- Tap Add eSIM.
- Select Scan carrier QR code and scan the code you received with your camera.
- Once the phone recognizes the plan, tap Add and wait a few moments for the profile to download.
- Your phone will ask if you want to turn on this profile immediately. Leave it turned off until you arrive at your destination.
- Line settings: Keep your original (primary) number as the default for Calls and SMS. For Cellular Data, keep your primary number selected for now (we will switch this when you land).
Do this the exact moment your plane touches down at your destination.
Now you simply need to tell your phone to stop using your home internet network and switch to RoamyJet.
For iPhone:
- Go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data).
- Tap your new RoamyJet line and make sure Turn On This Line is toggled ON.
- Turn ON Data Roaming only for this new RoamyJet line.
- Go back one step, tap Cellular Data at the top of the screen, and select RoamyJet.
- Make sure “Allow Cellular Data Switching” is turned OFF to avoid any unexpected charges from your home carrier.
For Android:
- Go to Settings > Connections > SIM Manager.
- Ensure your new RoamyJet eSIM is turned ON.
- Under the “Preferred SIMs” section, set Mobile Data to your new RoamyJet eSIM.
- Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks and turn ON Data Roaming.
- Important: Double-check that data roaming for your primary home SIM is turned OFF!
That’s it!
Your phone will automatically connect to the fastest local premium network within a minute or two, and you are ready to explore.
